The eco-schools program as an introduction to greening in Algerian schools (Bahamas Islands as a model)

Abstract
The paper aimed to identify the eco-schools program in the Bahamas Islands as an introduction to the greening of Algerian schools, and followed the descriptive method, and used document analysis in collecting data and information. The results showed the diversity of participation in the eco-schools program in the Bahamas Islands between public and private schools, and the presence of wide participation in the program from many ministries, agencies and community institutions with the Ministry of Education. the existence of seven specific phases for program implementation; These are: establishing an ecological committee, conducting an ecological review, building an ecological action plan, monitoring and evaluating progress, conducting curriculum communications, informing and engaging the school and community at large, and the ecological code. The multiplicity and diversity of the program's work areas, as it included nine areas; they are biodiversity, climate change, energy, healthy living, Litter, School Grounds, waste, water, marine and coastal. The results also showed that there are many problems facing Algerian schools in the field of green schools. Such as: limiting the concept of green schools to afforestation, the absence of social and environmental awareness of the importance of the green school, and the deterioration of the conditions of schools, their old, and their location in noisy places.
