Title: Translation and linguistics: the problem of translating the linguistic term

Abstract

This paper explores the importance of the dialectical relationship existing between translation and linguistics in general and the issue of translating the linguistic term in particular taking into account the role that the latter plays in the communication process. In fact, the communication lies at the heart of the translation process and the translator is responsible for retaining the originality of the source text through a set of procedures and rules translators should consider in terms of structural, linguistic, stylistic and semantic aspects. With this in mind, this research paper aims to shed light on the role of the terminological translation in ensuring the terminological equivalent and the extent to which the basic rules respected while translating from one language to another.
