The Story of the Migrant Woman Hāǧir between the Biblical Narrative and Reformulation in the Islamic texts

Abstract

This study, entitled: The Story of the migrant woman Hāǧir between the biblical narrative and reformulation in the Islamic texts. It is a research in religious narratives, which aims to clarify the differences between the formations of religious narratives around one story, and the impact of the active factors in changing the narrative structure, both textually and objectively.  The study began with a preface to the significance of the name Hāǧir in several languages, including Arabic, and the origin that lady and her lineage, then study the biblical text that tells us her story while standing on the most prominent techniques of narration in it, after that our study include Islamic texts that narrated the story in more than one source with comparisons made between what was mentioned in the Torah and these Islamic texts, and an explanation of the problems and differences that are not mentioned here and there, with a reading of the symbolism of this story and its implications in the other dimension of the religious language. The study follow a method that is compatible with the applied procedure and the goal that it aims to achieve, the descriptive-analytical method was, with it reinforced by making comparisons between what was mentioned in the biblical narrative and Islamic texts.
