Abstract

The present research aims at highlighting the efforts of Imam Al-Baghawi in the Hadiths (Prophetic Traditions) that have been judged by him, in his book- Sharh Al-Sunnah (Explanation of the Sunnah) , as ungodly. The research also includes the meaning of 'Disaffirmation or Anonymity of Hadiths', its types and its judgment for senior scholars specialized in the field of Islamic 'Hadiths Science'. The researcher has come up with a group of finings, the most prominent of which are: an anonymous Hadith, for Imam Al-Baghawi, is the one that is singled out by the abandoned, or the one that has a weak chain of narration. That Al-Baghawi has relied in his abovementioned judgment on those who preceded him from senior Islamic scholars specialized such as Imam Al-Bukhari and Imam Al-Tirmidhi. Moreover, the term 'Anonymity of Hadiths' has been found in all Hadiths, under the present study, to be due to the factor of 'Weakness of Sanud' (the chain of transmission or narration of Hadith). The gate is still opened for researchers to complete the terms of the 'Science of Know-how' and its implications, according to Imam Al-Baghawi through his works.
