Memory and transportation in Moroccan architecture: A semiotic study in the architecture of the two lights

Abstract

  This study chose to highlight the manifestations of memory, whether in its individual or collective aspects, in architecture in Morocco during the Alawite period. The cognitive background supported by a marriage of philosophical aspects is represented by Plato and Aristotle, and the semiotic background is represented by Yuri Lotman.

The first goal of this research is to reveal how the Alawites exploit the art of architecture to highlight and convey a number of aspects, whether artistic, cultural, communicative, etc. Therefore, this study, in addition to its semiotic dimension, seeks to inform the reader of an important station in the art of architecture in Morocco, which is The last stop on his journey before reaching the pre-colonial stage in which many jobs will change and many establishments will emerge that did not exist previously.
