Administrative Organization in University Libraries: Ibn Sina University for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences "A Field Study"

Abstract

The study aimed to introduce the management of university libraries، their functions and main characteristics، as well as the definition of the administrative organization that governs and organizes the central library of Ibn Sina University for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences currently، in addition to presenting Some proposals that would help to develop work and services within the library of the subject of the study by adopting the (descriptive and survey) method in the research through tools of direct observation and personal interviews. The policy of the library subject of the study، which was clearly distinguished by its policy، as stated by the work regulations and its legislation، and it was written in its written form. The study also showed that there are no fixed committees for a library، and it does not have a separate budget from the university’s budget. The recommendations of the study emphasized the need to form a committee for the selection process، which is usually It includes several parties from the faculty members and workers in the supply department، and students of all levels and specializations، and that the library’s budget is separate from the university’s budget and is managed and developed by the executive authority of the library.
