Abstract

The researcher tried to address the problem of readers and researchers in clarifying this phenomenon, which, due to lack of understanding, many may fall into misunderstanding of the Arabic vocabulary or even of the Holy Qur’an, where it is no secret to us that the semantic change, especially the touch, was a cause of misunderstanding the Arabic vocabulary as it was a cause of differences Jurisprudential opinions, as well as the different aspects of interpretation of some verses of the Holy Qur’an in which it was mentioned.

In this research, the researcher relied on the method of the historical descriptive study, where the researcher presents the term, and refers to its historical significance in Arabic dictionaries, comparing it with the new meaning to which the term has been transformed through its various stages of development, leading to its new significance in the Holy Qur’an. The study reached a set of results, most notably that touching is one of the means of enriching the Arabic language and one of the pillars of its linguistic lexicon if people use it well. Moreover, it is conclusive evidence that the Arabic language is not static, as some think, but rather is flexible and subject to development and renewal. Besides, it is also a way to respect the psychological state of individuals and societies by not being subjected to insults or language defects
