The impact of employees' motivation on institutional distinction in the government sector in the Sultanate of Oman

Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the level of employees' motivation in the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman and to know the degree of achieving institutional distinction in the ministry. Properly, the descriptive analytical approach is used to achieve the purposes of the study. The study population consisted of employees in the Ministry, while the study sample consisted of 262 individuals (employees). The questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS statistical analysis program. The results of the study showed that there is a positive, significant effect of employees' motivation on organizational distinction. The study recommended the need to involve employees periodically through meetings and workshops to ensure the clarity of the strategic plan, and to provide rewards and incentives to the employees of the Ministry in appreciation of their contributions and creative ideas. In addition to the Ministry's strengthening of the decentralization method in decision-making, and the development of new systems and technical programs that facilitate the work and strategic directions of the Ministry and contribute to achieve institutional distinction.
