Abstract
The study aimed at identifying Ibn Al-Mayt's attitude regarding the fundamentals and his grammatical efforts in his book Al-Tuhfah al-Wafiya on Ibn Aqil Explanation of the Millennium. The nature of scientific research in such an effort necessitated that it should be arranged into two sections. They are headed by an introduction and a brief definition of the author's life. They are followed by a conclusion with the most important results. The first topic is titled "His Attitude towards Fundamentals", and the second topic is titled "His Grammatical Opinions". The study found a set of results, the most significant of which are: The research revealed the scientific value of the explanation represented in the explainer's care in explaining the grammatical changes that occur in the words. The research revealed that the author was acquainted with many of the books of the scholars who preceded him, and his transmission from these sources varied, and his method of transmission differed. Most of the time he is satisfied with expressions that indicate his transfer from a source, such as his saying: “His/ her saying, it was said, someone said, what a person said, their saying, and what is said” and so on, and among the most important of these sources: Sibawayh's book, Al-Sahah for Al-Jawhari, and Explanation of Al- Shafya for Al-Radi.
