This study aims at shedding light on one of the characteristics of Islamic law, namely its ease of application and lifting hardship off the servants of God in the life being and in the hereafter. The analytical -inductive approach has been applied to achieve the objective of the study. The researcher has thoroughly studied Islamic legislative texts to scrutinize evidences of lifting hardship and analyse testimonials on subsequent hardship in its different contexts to construct its concept and reveal its manifestations and then to link it to some of its jurisprudential applications. The study has come to the conclusion that lifting hardship is the principle on which the Islamic Law and its branches are established. It is the rightful method that ensures the coherence and consistence of this law and its everlasting usefulness. Subsequent lifting of hardship is the guarantee of jurisprudence continuance and people’s engagement to its rules as this immunes them from slipping into wrong-doing and protects them from extremism. For all these reasons, it is essential to highlight this authentic principle and take it into account when acting or applying any religious judgement.
