The impact of social and economic factors of the family on the academic achievement of children

Abstract
The study aimed to find out the impact of the social and economic level of the family on the academic achievement of children. The research relied on the descriptive analytical method and used the questionnaire as a data collection tool. The field study was conducted on a sample of 120 male and female students who belong to the preparatory school on August 13. The study reached a set of results, most notably: the existence of a correlation between the social level of the family represented in the number of children, the family atmosphere, parental companionship, and the children's academic achievement. The study also found a correlation between the economic level represented by the source of the family, the family income, the quality of housing ownership, the existence of a separate room for the student, the provision of school supplies, and the provision of costs lessons, pupils' employment and children's academic achievement. The study recommended a set of recommendations, most notably: the importance of parents encouraging their children to achieve academic excellence, in addition to emphasizing the importance of holding educational seminars to educate parents about how to maintain family order and how to manage financial and family matters.
