The Role of 5S Practices in Raising Productive Efficiency: An Exploratory Study in UR State Company

Abstract

The research aims to test the correlation and impact of 5S practices in productive efficiency. The questionnaire was used as a tool for data and information collection, as it was distributed to a sample of engineers working in Ur State Company - Dhi Qar Governorate, and the sample size was (45) individuals, retrieved of the forms distributed shows that (40) form only suitable for analysis. That is, the response rate was (88%), and in order to reach the results and conduct the appropriate statistical analyzes, the statistical package (SPSS vr. 23) was used. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which was the existence of an impact relationship, meaning that there is a direct relationship between the dimensions of S5 and production efficiency, and based on the value of the coefficient of determination( ( which amounted to (0.931), we conclude that the change in dimensions explains the change in production efficiency by (93%) and the percentage (7%) explained by other variables, and the research reached several conclusions as There is a strong correlation between the variables of the study and there is a strong effect between 5S practices and production efficiency. In light of these conclusions, we recommend that the company in question should pay attention to implementing S5 practices, which contribute to reducing waste, reducing waiting times, optimizing the use of available resources, and managing inventory to improve Improving production processes.
