Reading comprehension of the written text in mentally retarded children slightly

Abstract
The current study aims to identify the level of reading comprehension among the slightly delayed students educated in the third year of primary education, where the study group consisted of ten cases suffering from mild mental retardation, and for this purpose, the researcher applied the tools represented in the written text comprehension test taken from the MT86 test, And the analysis network proposed by the researcher "Nouani", and reached the following results: The cases were able to decode the text with a weakness in the linguistic and cognitive abilities that led to their inability to express the events in a clear and sequential manner. Accordingly, mentally retarded children need to develop their cognitive and linguistic abilities such as reasoning, remembering, attention, as well as developing special knowledge related to the world around them, through the development of their daily experiences and experiences.
