Employing Omani Poetry in Fostering National Values among Secondary School Students: An Applied Study Based on the Poetry of Sulaiman Al-Nabhani

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the role of Omani poetry, represented by the works of Sulaiman Al-Nabhani, in instilling national values ​​among secondary school students. This is achieved through an analysis of patriotic poems and an assessment of their impact within the classroom environment using standardized educational applications. The study is grounded in a strong belief in the importance of literature in national education and aims to present a systematic framework for integrating poetry into school curricula and activities, given its embodiment of identity, loyalty, and belonging. A descriptive-analytical approach was adopted, with partial use of the experimental method, and an educational model was proposed based on the outcomes of field applications. The study concludes that incorporating Omani poetry enhances national sentiment and more effectively promotes societal values ​​compared to traditional, abstract methods.
