The Scientific Methodology of Imam Malik ibn Anas and Its Impact on Scientific, Social, and Educational Life in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and Its Educational Applications in Academic Institutions

Abstract

 This study examined the scientific methodology of Imam Malik ibn Anas, focusing on its foundations, characteristics, and profound impact on the intellectual, social, and educational life of Madinah during the 2^nd century AH. The study aimed to shed light on the distinctiveness of Imam Malik’s approach, which harmoniously combined adherence to textual sources with reasoned ijtihad, and struck a balance between tradition and renewal. Employing a descriptive-analytical method, the study draws upon authentic Arabic sources in jurisprudence, history, and biography. The findings reveal that Imam Malik’s intellectual legacy extended beyond jurisprudence, representing a holistic civilizational vision that contributed significantly to the development of individuals, society, and the state. The study recommended the need to revive the spirit of deliberation and deliberation in fatwas and education, as was the practice of Imam Malik, especially in light of the rapid spread of unregulated online fatwas. It also suggested encouraging the writing of specialized academic research that examines the impact of Imam Malik's approach on contemporary reality, particularly in the fields of education, sociology, and law.
