Abstract

The research dealt with the topic of metaphor and its connotations in the poetry of Hasaballah Mahdi Fadla as the title of this research, in which he will study all types of metaphors in an applied study that reveals the various methods that the poet used to clarify his idea through this type of graphic imagery. The methodological problem was represented in the following question: Does metaphor exist and play a role in the poetry of Hasaballah Mahdi Fadla? What type of metaphors did the poet rely on to express the meanings and connotations he wanted?

The researcher relied on the classroom method that relies on analysis, induction and statistics as its tools, while adhering to objectivity and neutrality in all stages of the research.

Through this, the researcher reached the following results:

The poet used metaphor in its sensory, rational and different colors, which is the most common type of images in his poetry. As for sensory metaphor, the metaphor of the seen with the seen is the most common, followed by the tangible with the tangible, then the tasted with the tasted, and finally the audible with the audible, which is rare. The comparison of the singular to the singular is the most common, followed by the multiple and then the compound.

As for the point of similarity, the detailed comparison is more common than the general, and this is evidence of the poet's clarification of the image, and the comparison of representation is rare while the comparison of non-representation is common.

As for the tool of comparison, he used the confirmed comparison more than the sent and the sent more than the eloquent, which indicates the brevity and clarity of the images.

The poet used similes in their sensory, mental and different colors, which are the most common types of images in his poetry. As for the sensory similes, the simile of the visible to the visible is the most common, followed by the tangible to the tangible, then the tasted to the tasted, and finally the audible to the audible, which is rare. Also, the simile of the singular to the singular is the most common, followed by the multiple and then the compound.

As for the point of similarity, the detailed simile is more common than the general, and this is evidence of the poet's clarification of the image, as the simile of representation is rare, while the simile of non-representation is common.

As for the simile tool, he used the confirmed simile more than the sent and the sent more than the eloquent, which indicates the brevity and clarity of the images.
