Abstract

The study aimed to uncover the effect of using its strategy (numbered heads) in raising the level of achievement among eleventh-grade students of the literary branch, in the Education Directorate of the Ain Al-Basha Brigade in Jordan. The sample of the study consisted of (40) students who were randomly divided into two equal groups: the experimental group (20) students studied with the strategy of (numbered heads) and the control group (20) students studied in the usual way. To achieve the objectives of the study, an achievement test was conducted and the first unit of the book on the history of Jordan for the eleventh grade (Jordan in Antiquity) was developed using the (Numbered Heads) strategy. The results indicated that there are statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the average scores on the achievement test in the post-test and in favor of the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness of the strategy.
