هذه الورقة البحثية عبارة عن نظرة عامة لنظرية التأدب، وهي نظرية معروفة في التداولية والتي تتضمن السلوك اللغوي وغير اللغوي خلال الإشارة لاستقبال أحاسيس الناس والأخذ بنظر الاعتبار كيفية التعامل مع هذه الأحاسيس، علاوة على الطرق المتداخلة التي يقوم بها الناس لإنشاء علاقاتهم المشتركة. التأدب يغطي السلوكيات مع الآخرين عقليا.  تبدأ الورقة البحثية بخلفية تاريخية ثم تم عرض تعريفات مختلفة لنظرية التأدب. بعدها، تم وصف نماذج مختلفة من النظرية. وفي النهاية، تم وصف البنية الداخلية لكل نظرية.

This paper is a theoretical overview of politeness theory which is well known theory in pragmatics which includes linguistics and non-linguistics conduct through which people indicate that they receive others’ feelings and put in consideration how to treat these feelings. Moreover, the interactional ways in which people build up their interpersonal relationships. Politeness covers behaviors with others’ face needs in mind. The paper starts with a historical background. Then, various definitions of politeness are presented. Later, different models of politeness are considered. Finally, the internal structure of each theory is described.
