Economic and religious factors affecting early marriage in Dhi Qar Governorate

Abstract

 The phenomenon of early marriage is one of the human phenomena with demographic and social effects on the population، so it must be paid attention to and confronted، as it has grown in most Iraqi governorates and is increasing on a large scale، and the society of Dhi Qar governorate had a share of it، as there are reasons and motives that helped to increase and spread this phenomenon. The phenomenon is based on a geographical view، in addition to examining the characteristics of early married men and women، identifying the economic and social changes that are associated with them، and knowing the implications of them. The study reached a number of results، the most prominent of which were several economic and religious factors. From the economic burdens on it، in addition to the religious factors that are the main factor encouraging marriage، and the study recommended several proposals that would limit or reduce the phenomenon in the society of Dhi Qar Governorate.
