Abstract

Through this paper, I seek to monitor the difficulties of using modern technology in teaching in general, with a focus on teaching the Arabic language in particular, and stand on a set of reasons that prevent the use of modern technology in teaching despite the reforms sought by the educational system to improve the academic achievement of the Moroccan learner. In view of the importance of the topic, I decided to delve into the research in one aspect of it, in order to contribute ideas and remove confusion from others. In view of the importance of technology in the teaching and learning processes, and its effective role in consolidating information and increasing knowledge acquisition, it is necessary to introduce technology in teaching, in order to change the traditional pattern of transferring information, in order to increase the motivation of learners towards learning. But the problem is that technological progress in education does not serve the educational process in the right way, and this may be due to the superficial knowledge that teachers possess, which prevents the use of this technology properly. The teaching of the Arabic language is not free from these problems, as the teacher faces a number of obstacles while using digital technology to teach this language. Hence, the issue of applying modern technology in teaching depends on serious thinking about improving the performance of teachers by qualifying them to use digital technology, as well as equipping the infrastructure of educational institutions and connecting them to the Internet. Reliance on modern means of education has become necessary. Perhaps the employment of this type of means in teaching the Arabic language makes it an interactive subject through the expansion of professional development courses and the work on converting theoretical lessons into interactive applied lessons, and making their components in line with the living reality, by investing what the learner has learned in the classroom and in his surroundings, so that he may acquire some skills which the educational system seeks to achieve.
