Abstract

This study falls within the studies that aim to develop the curricula in the Moroccan school, by invoking the entrance of competencies and principles guiding the teaching of the contents of the subjects; This is done by extending cognitive and methodological bridges between geography and natural sciences in high school level. The study aims to diagnose the extensions and intersections between the two school subjects at the level of the common core. In order to answer the following problematic question: To what extent do textbooks of geography and natural sciences evoke the principle of complementarity between them through the element of intersections and extensions? The study adopted the descriptive approach and the content analysis tool to study four textbooks for the two subjects at the level of the common core. And it concluded that the principle of integration is strongly present at the level of proposals for extensions and intersections contained in textbooks for geography, compared to its weakness in textbooks for natural sciences.
