The Role of the Using the Information and Communication Technologies in the Conduct of the University Work during the Corona Pandemic

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to identify the role of the use of information and communication technology ICT in the conduct of university work during the Corona pandemic, as well as to identify the tools of the ICT that can be used in universities and their application areas in the conduct of work in universities. The descriptive analytical method was used to carry out this theoretical study and secondary sources were used to gather information. It was concluded that ICT has an important role in the conduct of university work, through which to evaluating the various activities that take place at the university, whether administrative, financial activities or those related to the educational process. Through human resources management systems, the presence and departure of staff can be verified through the electronic footprint system. With regard to financial activities, the financial systems can assess the financial position of the university, and clarify all revenues and expenses easily. As for the activities related to the educational process, ICT can be used in the process of assessing the students’ level through the students’ implementation of exams electronically using computers and through applications through which it is easy to answer the exam and obtain the result immediately after completion. The study concluded with a recommendation related to the need to rely on the use of information and communication technology because of its great role in the conduct of university work, both in the Corona pandemic and in normal conditions.
