The Structure of the Place in the Novel "Camp, Oh Homeland” by the Writer “Daad Rashrash Al-Nasser”

Abstract

This research deals with the structure of the place in the novel “Camp oh Homeland” by the writer "Daad Rashrash Al-Nasser". The research started to explain the importance of this narrative element as it is one of the most important narrative elements in the novel.

The method which is used in this study, is the structural method, with its descriptive analytical technique. The structural approach always seeks to study and analyze literary and creative texts, based on the internal structure of the text.

The research reached a set of results, the most important of which are: 1- The novel relied in its artistic construction on the description because it is a tool has capable of monitoring and representing the Palestinian reality and understanding the issues and events in it in an artistic way that presents to the recipient a world full of connotations and images. 2- The narrator relied on the description of the place in the novel, because the narration often stopped to be replaced by the description in order to give each element of the narrative structure a large space for emergence and prominence. We often find the description of the place in the novel occupying large areas, in order to bring the reader closer to the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The research reached several recommendations, the most important of which are: 1- The necessity of paying attention to the study of the narrative structure in order to unravel the mysteries of the narrative texts and their connotations. 2- The necessity of rehabilitating Islamic literature, and researching its distinctive features according to other kinds of li terature.
