Moral disgust among university of Basrah students in light of some variables

Abstract

 The study aimed to identify the level of moral disgust among university students, according to the variables of gender (male - female) and stage (first - third). The research sample amounted to (500) male and female students from the University of Basra, which were selected by the stratified random method, and the researcher built the tool and conducted the statistical analysis of the paragraphs and extracted the indicators of validity and stability of the scale. The results were verified and their data was statistically processed, and the researcher used the appropriate statistical means, the t-test for two independent samples, the Pearson correlation coefficient, the t-test for one sample, and the alpha-Cronbach equation, and also used the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). The results showed that university students have a moral disgust for all behaviors, behaviors and situations that are contrary to moral custom. As well as the absence of statistically significant differences in moral disgust among Basra University students according to the variables of gender and stage, and through the results of the study, the researcher came up with a set of recommendations and proposals, including taking advantage of the current research scale, which was built by the researcher in line with the Iraqi environment in psychological and educational research , due to the absence of previous Iraqi, Arab and foreign standards, and support and development of the moral growth level of students through material and moral instructions and reinforcements.
