Patient comfort between the jurisprudential perspective and the Saudi system: a fundamental, applied study

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the issue of patient comfort between the jurisprudential perspective and the Saudization system, as a fundamental and applied study.

The study reached a set of results, the most prominent of which are: The Saudi regime cared about the lives of people, especially the sick among them, and approved several systems that ensure safety and reassurance for them; And the Saudi regime adopted responsibility in Islamic law, which is: “The legal responsibility that a person bears as a result of an act that follows this person for actions that are forbidden and harmful to individuals or society.” And Islamic law prohibited the disclosure of medical secrets, but this is not an absolute matter, but there are cases that are excluded from this principle. Based on other legitimate justifications - approved by the guardian - that make disclosing a medical secret more important than keeping it for interest and need.

The study recommended a set of clarifications, most notably: the need to expand the scope of interest in such qualitative studies; And creating a so-called "medical code" in which the patient's comfort is entered, and it is distributed to medical centers.
