      Abstract

      The study aimed to identify the ethical code of the teaching profession in Sierra Leone and the possibility of benefiting from it in the Sultanate of Oman, the study used the descriptive method, and the analysis of documents was used in collecting data and information. The results of the study revealed that there is broad community participation in building the Code of ethics for the teaching profession in Sierra Leone through many bodies and institutions. These include: the Teaching Services Commission, the Teachers’ Union, the Girls’ Education Movement, and the Parliamentary Oversight Committee on Education. The presence of international participation in building the ethical charter through many bodies and institutions. Such as: the World Bank, the European Union, and UNICEF, which gave the Charter more credibility and reliability. The the Code of ethics relies on compliance with local laws, legislation and regulations. Such as: the Constitution, the Education Law, the Education Services Law, the Children’s Rights Law, the Anti-Corruption Law, the Persons with Disabilities Law, and the Sexual Crimes Law. The the Code of ethics is concerned with quality and excellence in the performance of those working in the teaching profession, and encouraging them to have greater enthusiasm, motivation, Engagement and absorption in work, by establishing, strengthening and consolidating the commitments of those working in the teaching profession to each other, to the profession, learners, parents, higher educational authorities, and society. The study recommended building an Code of Ethics for the teaching profession for the Sultanate of Oman, based on the laws, legislation and regulations regulating the educational process, defining the moral values to which members of the teaching profession in the Sultanate are committed, as well as identifying unethical behaviors that workers in the teaching profession should stay away from.
