      Abstract

      Abstract

          The research aims to see the most important monuments that the province of Karbala is famous for in Iraq through the past historical times, which is the fortress of Al-Akhidr, where we touched on the components of the fort in terms of location and the difference in naming and its history and this urban and artistic creativity in design, form and construction and this indicates the engineering development in sophistication and creativity when previous civilizations because it is a masterpiece in construction.

      The Green Fortress stands out with its cultural dimensions, being an integral part of the region's heritage. It plays a crucial role in conveying the history and culture to current and future generations, making it a subject of recent research in the fields of archaeology and history.

      Local and national authorities shed light on the significance of preserving the Green Fortress as an inseparable part of the cultural heritage. The fortress attracts visitors and cultural events, remaining a topic with considerable appeal for researchers and enthusiasts interested in the history and cultural heritage of the region.
