    Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the nature of the metaphor relationship in linguistic deviation, as a critical approach between the rhetorical study and the incoming critical studies. The researcher relied on the content analysis approach, to achieve the objectives of the study. The study found a set of results, the most significant of which is that linguistic deviation appears in the language in two forms, from which a group of deviating forms and manifestations are generated. The first: is the semantic deviation, which is associated with rhetorical images; such as image, simile, and metaphor; Therefore, it can be called figurative deviation. The second is the synthetic deviation, which is related to the composition, grammar, lexicon, and what is related to them.
