These thresholds act as a mediator between the text and the reader, and help to prepare the reader to understand the text in a certain way that reflects the researcher's intentions and orientations.

The study explains how textual thresholds are used to create certain effects on the reader, reviewing examples and critical theories that illustrate their use in literature to achieve multiple goals, whether commercial, artistic, or cultural. As an applied model, the study uses Al-Sayyab's "Flowers and Legends" collection to illustrate how textual thresholds are used to achieve these effects.

The study highlights the importance of studying textual thresholds as a key element in literary criticism, stressing the need to understand these thresholds in order to understand literary texts more deeply. The study reflects the challenges facing readers and critics in trying to interpret these thresholds and their impact on the reading experience.

In terms of methodology, the descriptive analytical approach was adopted as a method for this study in order to reach its scientific and literary conclusion.
