Challenges facing the application of distance education in Palestinian schools during the Corona pandemic from the point of view of public school teachers in the South Hebron region

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the level of difficulty seen in online learning that was applied by the Palestinian ministry of education according to the point of view of Palestinian teachers in southern Hebron. Also this study will be used to find if there is a significant difference between: teachers experience, school level, specialty branches, and technological training among teachers. The researchers used observational study design. The sample of the study was 340 teachers taken randomly during the second semester of the school year 2020-2021. The study included a questionnaire that showed that there is high level of difficulty seen among teachers. Furthermore, there was a significant difference found between teacher’s experience between (5 - 10) years and no significant difference between the other mentioned variables. The results of this study would recommend that ministry of education encourages teachers, students, and families to use online learning technology. Also, it is recommended that there is more technological training for teachers and students, and that there is also online learning used with face to face learning. Additionally, it is recommended that the media spreads awareness to the population about online learning and new applications. Finally, it is recommended that the ministry of education provides financial aid to schools and students to buy the technology needed and provide less expensive internet for online learning.
