Learning Experience Design (LXD) as an innovative, learner-centred pedagogical approach

Abstract
We live in a constantly changing world where our needs are constantly evolving and our aspirations are changing dynamically. Against this backdrop, higher education has been facing considerable problems and challenges in recent years, impacting its effectiveness and making it ill-suited to the expectations and needs of learners. The existing education system is characterised by major shortcomings, particularly in terms of teaching methods, which tend to be traditional and lecture-based, resulting in a lack of commitment, interactivity, motivation and even creativity on the part of students. In this context, Learning Experience Design (LXD) has considerable potential as an innovative approach in higher education. It has emerged in recent years as a new pedagogical approach based on the principles of human-centred design, user experience design and Design Thinking. With this in mind, we have tried to apply this approach to a Design Thinking course in Tunisia. Our objective in this study is to measure the impact of LXD on this training, while examining its role in the assimilation of information, on student engagement and motivation, as well as its challenges and limitations.
Nous vivons dans un monde en constante évolution où nos besoins évoluent constamment, ce qui fait que nos aspirations changent de manière dynamique. Dans ce contexte, l'enseignement supérieur fait face, ces dernières années à des problèmes et à des défis considérables qui en impactent son efficacité et le rendent inadapté aux attentes et aux besoins de l’apprenant. En effet, le système éducatif existant est caractérisé par des déficiences assez majeures, notamment en ce qui concerne la pédagogie qui est plutôt traditionnelle et magistrale ce qui engendre un manque d'engagement, d'interactivité, de motivation et même de créativité du côté des étudiants. Dans ce contexte, le Learning Experience Design (LXD) (design de l'expérience d'apprentissage) représente un potentiel considérable en tant qu'approche innovante dans l'enseignement supérieur. Cette approche est apparue au cours de ces dernières années comme une nouvelle approche pédagogique reposant sur les principes du design centré sur l'humain, du design de l'expérience utilisateur et du Design Thinking. Dans cette perspective, nous avons essayé d'appliquer cette approche à une formation en Design Thinking en Tunisie. Notre objectif dans cette étude est de mesurer l'impact du LXD sur cette formation, tout en examinant son rôle sur l'assimilation de l'information, sur l'engagement et la motivation chez les étudiants, ainsi que les défis et ses limites.
